Let’s start with one of the most well-known areas in Guelph, Rockwood. Rockwood has been an area of Guelph that has been attractive to those leaving the Toronto area because of its appealing prices and convenient location. You are a short ten minutes from downtown Guelph and roughly an hour outside of the city with lots of options for public transportation inbetween. Rockwood is also known to those outside of Guelph for the beautiful Rockwood Conservation Area. The sights at RCA make you feel like you’ve traveled to another part of Canada, when really, you’re just outside of the GTA. From caves and cliffs to bluffs, the scenic appeal is top notch. Whether you’re looking to get some quick exercise, go on a socially distanced hike, or get in a weekend of camping, Rockwood Conservation Area has you covered and is a year-round attraction that will make you glad you chose to call Guelph home.

As you approach the south end of Guelph, you find yourself in the smaller and more suburban areas of Guelph such as Puslinch. You will find fully formed communities (Aberfoyle and Arkell) with the amenities that your family needs, access to good schools, plus the convenience of the 401 in one direction and a straight path to downtown Guelph in the other. Puslinch has long been an attraction to young families due to the affordability and the appeal of Aberfoyle Public School. If you’re continuing West on the 401, you’ll be approaching more family-friendly communities with more options when it comes to education, as well as a prominent Community Centre. The West End is considered to be very central but appeals especially to those who work in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.
